Maria Sharapova donates 10,000 dollars to Thai quake victims
Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova, due to play an exhibition match in Thailand against Venus Williams, will donate 10,000 dollars to help victims of the killer tsunamis that hit the kingdom, a minister said. Deputy Prime Minister and tennis association head Suwat Liptapanlop said the Russian starlet, scheduled to arrive in Bangkok late Wednesday, had notified him about her generosity.
"She informed us that she wanted to donate 10,000 dollars of her own money to the government's victim relief fund," Suwat told AFP.

Maria is one of the most, if not, the most exciting player to come about in a long time. She is very skillful, hardworking, and seemingly self made and unaffected by her fame. And she is soooo young. I think her giving and caring attitudes are a breath of fresh air and certainly distinguish her from the fray of other self-serving and undeserving elitist (phony as they are) who she must play and endure (like swallowing a suppository) as she continues to rise. I believe the most unsportsman like person today is the puke brain lack lustered Williams. Yeah, you all know the one with the $40K earings! Oooooh. So, impressive. Not for long Ms. Williams, not for long, your kind fades without fanfare or fans, beleeeeeeeeeeeee dat.
