Five Russians in the draw

There are five Russians in the draw, and four are seeded. Elena Dementieva, the only woman to have reached two Grand Slam finals in 2004, and who reached the final in Moscow this weekend, is seeded three, and Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova is seeded four.
